TEL AVIV-JAFFA CONTINUES CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS WITH ARTLV-09 FESTIVAL

New York - September 14, 2009: Tel Aviv-Jaffa will continue its centennial celebrations this month with the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Art Biennial ARTLV-09, featuring the works of more than 300 artists at 20 different venues around the city, through September 24.The festival's central exhibition, "Circus Universalis," will showcase the works of 40 Israeli and international artists based upon visual representations of the modern city from different perspectives at the Nechushtan Pavilion near Neve Tzedek. Also, an exhibition featuring the works of international artists entitled, "Opening - Four Openings," will be presented at the Bezalal Academy of Art."The ARTLV-09 Festival is an exciting event that attracts some of the world's most popular contemporary artists to Tel Aviv-Jaffa," says Arie Sommer, Commissioner of Tourism, North and South America. "This year's festival will highlight Tel Aviv's rich art culture in concurrence with the year-long centennial celebration." Also, Rabin Square will be carpeted with half a million flowers in homage to the the city's founders from September 15-17.
